Dustopia is an ongoing research and archival orientated project, begun in 2012, that registers encounters with dust. Dust is collected from places and contexts that either are undergoing, or have a history with a state of change, transition, transformation or conflict.

Note: As insect numbers dwindle, each summer passing there are fewer to be seen within the fields and hedgerows. In contrast, flying insects are falling out of the sky, often found in places of transit or uncanny destination.

archival box 1: Containing a photographic panorama of the caldera that is Montana Roja, Lanzarote, photographs and collected dust samples in plastic containers, inkjet prints of drawings and notes on acetate and archival paper. Stones are wrapped in drawings made with dust. A barefoot walk was made crossing the caldera and samples of dust were collected.
